... More about VO Websites With a modern web development and management environment with content management capabilities and one of your VO's computer literate members acting as your Website Administrator (or with one of our people performing this role), you can build, powerfully present, manage and maintain your VO Website in real time; whenever you want to and from wherever you are in the world. While both the Customer facing and Member facing sections of your VO's Website are important to the success of your VO, the Member facing section is typically more complex because it operates as your interactive cyberspace Head Office. As such, it works best with an interactive, database driven backend. With more than a decade of VO experience and hard earned learning behind it, this is where our VO Website Guidelines can really add value to your VO initiative.
The Customer facing section of your VO's Website presents your VO, your Products and your Services to your target markets. Visit www.ie3.co.nz to see the detail of a Customer facing VO Website.
Here are our Guidelines for the Customer facing pages of your website:

It can be accessed by your VO Members in accordance with their membership level and the VO Roles they are authorised to perform. An effective set of Member facing web pages are critically important for facilitating communications and 'good business' through your VO.

It will be helpful for your Website Administrator to be able to add, edit and delete website pages and images, manage the website design and structure, and perform document management such as publishing information to specific audiences on the VO Website. e.g. Publishing a schedule of current Accounts Receiveable in the Member Services section that is visible to members with a minimum VO membership level.
We recommend you select a web environment that provides a user-friendly web browser interface with a WYSIWYG editor that generates html code and is driven from the server side in a way that provides authorised users with non-technical, flexible and reliable, remote management control over the design, structure, page content, document management and administration elements of your VO Website.
For the technical; our VO website development environment uses Java based tools, TomCat, Apache, Microsoft SQL-Server for the database and QMail as the mail server.
